From 16 to 23 May, Kitzbühel will be the host of the Austrian Open with prize money worth 450,000 euros. Literally at the last minute, and in cooperation with the state of Tyrol, the glamourous sports city has managed to continue the 63-year-old tradition of the Austrian international championship.

Following an initiative set up by Kitzbühel Tourismus, the state of Tyrol, the city of Kitzbühel and the Austrian and Tyrolean Tennis Association pulled together and made it possible to hold the Austrian Open just before time ran out. In addition to the world famous Hahnenkamm races, from now on Kitzbühel wants to continue to live up to its reputation as an internationally renowned sports city by also hosting the Austrian Open.
